Join us for the Opening Reception of Keep the Vision 2026 on Friday, June 5 from 5:00–6:30pm.
The public is also invited to an Artist Talk and Demonstration on Tuesday, June 23 from 2:00–3:00pm. During this special program, Thieme will demonstrate her creative process and answer questions from attendees.
Keep the Vision 2026, a collection of watermedia paintings in acrylic and watercolor by local artist Jeanne Maguire Thieme, will be on view from Friday, June 5th through July 30.
Thieme explores the beauty of the natural world and the quiet power of observation. Trusting the movement of water and pigment, she allows abstract patterns to emerge organically across the paper and canvas, creating soft light and atmospheric quality in her work. Incorporating acrylics into her practice has added further depth and vibrancy to her compositions.
Thieme was recently informed that one of her acrylic paintings has been selected as a Finalist in the AcrylicWorks 13: The Best of Acrylic art competition. As a finalist, the painting will be featured in a special issue of Artists Magazine hitting newsstands September 2026.
“I paint my passions,” says Thieme. “Hiking, farm life, exploring our delicate environment on horseback - all diving boards into my work. As an active member of a land trust I see the encroachment of 'progress' on our lands and wildlife. If my work can remind us of the beauty and importance of protecting what we love I will be comforted that I have been a part of a solution.”
About the Artist:
Jeanne Maguire Thieme is a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society, Vermont Watercolor Society, New Hampshire Art Association and The Academic Artists Association. She is an award winner and past member of The Salmagundi Club in New York City and has memberships in numerous art associations.
