Keep the Vision 2026, a collection watermedia paintings in acrylic and watercolor by local artist Jeanne Maguire Thieme, will be on view from Friday, June 5th through the end of July.
Thieme explores the beauty of the natural world and the quiet power of observation. Trusting the movement of water and pigment, she allows abstract patterns to emerge organically across the paper, creating the soft light and atmospheric quality for which her work is known. Incorporating acrylics into her practice adds further depth and energy to her compositions.
“I paint my passions,” says Thieme. “Hiking, farm life, exploring our delicate environment on horseback - all diving boards into my work. As an active member of a land trust I see the encroachment of 'progress' on our lands and wildlife. If my work can remind us of the beauty and importance of protecting what we love I will be comforted that I have been a part of a solution.”
