In Conversation: Dominique Caissie & Eva-Lynn Loy
In Conversation: Dominique Caissie & Eva-Lynn Loy, will be on view in the Peterborough Town Library’s Community Art Gallery from Saturday, March 4th until Wednesday, April 26th and will feature blown glass work by Dominique Caissie and acrylic paintings by Eva-Lynn Loy.
The opening reception will be held on First Friday, April 7th, 2023 from 5-7pm. During the reception, both artists will be present to discuss their work. Caissie will do a special presentation on glassblowing at 6pm, and Loy will be offering an opportunity for attendees to create their own piece of artwork inspired by music throughout the evening.
Dominique Caissie is a millennial glass artist of almost 15 years, and co-owner of Terrapin Glassblowing Studio in Jaffrey, NH. When asked about her work Caissie says “my inspirations vary as greatly as my moods… I also often dabble heavily into sculptural forms in my own time, enjoying the recreation of nature and creatures into glass from my own unique perspective.” This exhibit will feature many of her larger blown glass animals.
Eva-Lynn Loy has been creating art for as long as she can remember. After retiring and moving to the Monadnock region in 2005, Loy began to focus on her painting. Loy describes her artmaking experience through the years as moving from how she viewed a scene from the “outside-in” with color and design adaptations, to her newer work emerging from the “inside-out” where she tries to find and bring forth what lies within herself. Loy says that for her the artmaking “process takes time, patience, and trust.” This exhibit will be a retrospective of her painting journey through the years.
