Join Aaron Abitz and Brittany Kavanagh from Fassett Farm Nursery for the final program in the 2026 Natural NH series!
This presentation will be focused on developing resilient gardens using native plants. Topics will include keystone species, appropriate native plant selection, garden design and plant installation, and ecological maintenance techniques. Plus, there will be a free door prize drawing for Fassett Farm native plants!
About the Presenters:
Aaron Abitz is passionate about building healthy ecosystems through the use of native species and innovative garden designs and techniques. Aaron created Fassett Farm Nursery in 2021 with a dream of making native plants easily accessible to all in the Monadnock Region. In just 5 years he has built a thriving nursery and garden design business while simultaneously hosting community events and education. Aaron believes strongly not only in building local thriving ecosystems but in uniting people in community around shared values.
Brittany Kavanagh hails from from Massachusetts, and now resides within the Monadnock region where her family has visited for generations. With a Bachelors degree in fisheries and wildlife management and a professional background in fine gardening, she now supports both the nursery and the gardening crew with a passion for incorporating native species into developed environments. She believes every backyard can become a functioning ecosystem that supports the wildlife and insect populations of the region.

This program is free and open to all. Please note that library parking is not guaranteed. Patrons who are able are encouraged to take advantage of Peterborough’s walkable downtown by parking in the Depot Square or Riverwalk lots.
Peterborough Town Library, located downtown at the corner of Main and Concord/Rt 202, has a large meeting room, study rooms, classroom, and a board room available to the public.
